Mary T. Wagner
Mary T. Wagner is an award-winning essayist, nature photographer, and the author and illustrator of the Finnigan the Circus Cat children’s chapter books. Newspaper journalism was her first career, followed by magazine freelancing and motherhood. At the age of forty, following a serious horseback riding accident, she changed career horses in mid-stream to attend law school, becoming a prosecuting attorney for the State of Wisconsin in Sheboygan.
A love of writing drew her back to the creative keyboard, while at the same time a blossoming interest in digital photography earned her accolades for her images of nature and her photo essays. Now retired from law, she is drawn almost daily to the nearby Lake Michigan shoreline and woodlands that inspire both her writing, her photography, and most recently, pastel painting. Wagner’s photographs have been displayed at the UW Carbone Cancer Center in Madison, Wisconsin, and several now grace the walls of the Rogers Behavioral Health Clinic here in Sheboygan.
