Felipe Hernandez
I am an artist with a multitude of artistic and musical creative endeavors. My primary focus is wire sculpture, but I also work with acrylic paints, clay (non-wheel), fused glass, and stained glass. A lot of my current sculptures reflect my interest in yoga and the human form. A blend of anatomy and philosophy which serves as a creative outlet and moving meditation. My passion for sculpture began when I was a junior in high school with a random individual choice project. The experience awakened a curiosity for structure, form, and flow. A lifetime later and I am still embracing the challenge of capturing the essence of movement and pose, as an intersection of space and detail.
The question… how can I make this?
This is the challenging opportunity that drives my artistic and creative endeavors. Always willing to change things up to develop and diversify my artistic vocabulary. In my other lives… I have spent almost thirty years as a designer spanning a multitude of trades. The last ten years being in the fire protection industry.
I am also an Army veteran, a drummer, and a massage therapist.
